Nathan G | Future Proof EP

Large Music LAR137 October 12, 2010

Retro Deep House at it’s finest with massive support from Jimpster, Mr V, Fred Everything and Halo.

After producing the hugely successful anthem ‘No Limit’ with dance icon Byron Stingily for Large, Australian deep house don Nathan G flips the script with his follow-up EP, Future Proof. The album boasts three supremely funky tracks: ‘Inner Spirit’ and ‘Hand Up for the Count’ are floor-bangers; and the EP’s title track sits nicely within the current boogie soul vibe inspired by artists like The Revenge, Crazy P and Franc Spangler.

‘Jeff Craven and I talked early in the summer and we both realized we were on the same page artistically for our next project,’ says Nathan. ‘I call this sound retro-future deep and I wanted to create tracks that would forge new territory for Large into the future, while also giving homage to the label’s rich history.’ For further inspiration, Nathan even turned to one of his early artistic influences: ‘One of my favorite visual artists growing up was Syd Mead…he was the futuristic master. If I had to pick a visual artist to relate my music to on this EP, it would be him.’

So with a nod to the past and a leap into the future, Large Music and Nathan G present the Future Proof EP.
