Another fine reissue of a Chicago classic from Jeff Craven and his Large Music imprint focusing again on the dynamic artistic team of Black Ice Productions. First released in 1992 on Velvet City Records, The Black Ice EP treads more into a deeper and jazzier vibes than their other outings at that time (such as the Union Camp release). A few listens and one can easily recognize the influence that all four tracks had on future labels and artists throughout the mid and late 1990’s. This is timeless, pioneering Chicago deep house at its finest and a must have for all collectors.
