Hailing from Bristol UK, newcomer Jordan O’Regan has already had an impressive slew of releases on top labels such as Nervous, Inner City and Seamless. His debut ep for Large Music showcases a youthful, exuberant and yet authentic approach to Deep House production that we find infectious. We expect great things from this rising star in 2016 and sat down recently for a very informative interview:
Studioheist are Scott Lee & Andy Cain, two music obsessed DJs & producers hailing from Manchester, UK. Both have been active on the scene as DJs for the past 15 years and have recently dove head first into production with dramatic results. In celebration of their hypnotic new release on Large, we have asked them to mix up our latest podcast. Crisp, clean and deep with plenty of surprises–just the way we like it.
Moving into more straight-up deep house territory with this three-track EP from Chicago’s mighty Large Music. Everybody is up first, quite a summery, lazy kinda groove with chiming chords, an intricate bassline and sampled, spoken male vox. For The Music follows a similar MO but is a little more uptempo, with some gorgeous garage-y Rhodes chords and more sampled, spoken vox, in this case about “doing it just for the music”. And then finally there’s Tear Apart, which is an instrumental affair but utitilises a similar “rolling beats and understated but chunky bass” blueprint to the other two.
